Atlas
Reclaim your web discovery
Break free from algorithmic walled gardens. Curate your own path through the open web.
The web was built for discovery. Let's bring it back.
Social platforms broke web discovery by throttling and deboosting links. Atlas rebuilds it by giving you the tools to curate your own path through the open web.
Open Web Discovery
Break free from siloed platforms and rediscover the vast, interconnected web you once knew.
Smart Playlists
Group content by theme. Teach algorithms what you love with positive and negative examples.
Your Algorithm
Take control of your discovery. No more platform-driven content. Just what matters to you.
The Web Discovery Problem
Social media platforms have become increasingly hostile to outbound links by throttling and deboosting them. Links are how we discover the broader web, but because large platforms don't want you leaving their walled gardens, we've lost the kind of algorithmic discovery that made the early web so magical. Today, we have no real “discovery algorithm” for the broader web beyond what these platforms decide to show us.
A Better Way Forward
The web thrived when it was millions of tiny islands, loosely connected together, decentralized, and accessible for all. This has become a kind of platitude in the tech community, but little has been done to achieve this. Even our “answers” to siloed social media websites come in the form of just another platform—whether it's Substack, Medium, or the latest social network.
Atlas takes a different approach. Instead of building another platform, we're building tools that help you create your own personalized discovery experience across the entire web. Using playlists as the core UX pattern, you can group like-minded content together and provide guidance through positive and negative examples. Our algorithms then help you discover new content that fits your carefully curated clusters.
